Building Children's Independence Through 'SMILE' Sensory-Motor Therapy

Supporting your child
meaningful progress every day
At SMILE Therapy for Kids Vancouver, we focus on helping children develop strength, coordination, and movement skills through hands-on therapy. Every child is different, so we create personalized plans that challenge them at the right level while supporting their progress.
Through early intervention and intensive therapy, we work with infants and children to address orthopedic, neurological, sensory, fine-motor, visual, and vestibular challenges—key areas that impact movement, function, and overall development. We stay up to date with the latest techniques to provide effective, practical therapy that drives real progress.
Our goal is to help kids gain skills, build independence, and reach their potential.
Custom Therapy for Every Child
Our personalized Programs

Pediatric Physiotherapy Program
Currently Ages 0 - 10
Pediatric Physiotherapy supports the development of key motor skills such as balance, strength, and coordination. We focus on helping children gain control of essential movements like sitting, standing, walking, and postural control to support everyday activities.
Dynamic Movement Intervention (DMI)
Based on weight
Dynamic Movement Intervention (DMI) is a therapeutic technique used in physical and occupational therapy to treat children with motor delay by improving automatic postural responses and promoting progress towards developmental milestones.

Intensive Therapy Program
Currently Ages 0 - 10
Intensive therapy is a high-frequency, focused approach to physiotherapy that provides children with more opportunities to practice and build on their skills. Unlike traditional therapy, it increases both the intensity and frequency of sessions to help promote progress. Intensive therapy has been shown to improve function and enhance neuroplasticity—the brain’s ability to adapt and create new connections

Every child is unique, and so is their therapy plan. We customize each session to fit your child’s individual needs, helping them develop strength, coordination, and sensory integration skills that support their daily life, no matter where they are on their journey.
Building Strength and Coordination
Through targeted exercises and sensory integration techniques, we work on improving balance, coordination, and strength—skills that help children navigate the world with more ease, confidence, and independence.

“Chelsea was Lucy’s physiotherapist for 12 months. Lucy has Rett Syndrome and as part of her condition has a fear of movement. Chelsea worked on developing a trusting relationship with Lucy so that Lucy knew she could trust Chelsea during their sessions together. She is a one in a million therapist and anyone who works with Chelsea is very lucky.”
