Chelsea is a passionate pediatric physiotherapist committed to helping babies and children achieve their movement goals. With years of experience across hospitals, outpatient centres, and specialized clinics, she has had the privilege of working with children of all abilities—both locally and internationally.

Her journey with Dynamic Movement Intervention (DMI) began at the Centre of Movement in Australia, where she was first introduced to this therapeutic approach. Captivated by its potential, she refined her skills in Toronto under the mentorship of Jo-Anne Weltman, co-creator of DMI therapy and owner of SMILE Therapy for Kids.

  • MSc in Physiotherapy
  • Dynamic Movement Interventions Intermediate Level A

Chelsea is also experienced in using Theratogs, NMES/TASES/FES and Non-Invasive Spinal Electrical Stimulation (NISE-Stim), Therasuit, and other pediatric therapy modalities. She also has additional knowledge in pediatric orthopedic development as well as the role of vision and vestibular systems in motor learning and development in children.

Her work in the Level 3 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) in Surrey, BC provided her with invaluable experience supporting premature infants and newborns with complex medical needs. She prioritizes ongoing education to ensure her clients benefit from the latest, evidence-based therapeutic approaches.

Beyond physiotherapy, she has a love for animals, nature, and activity which often inspires her sessions (yes, you’ll hear her singing “Old MacDonald Had a Farm” and “Down by the Bay” 🎶). She also enjoys traveling, sports, and spending time outdoors.

Above all, she genuinely loves what she does and feels incredibly grateful to support children and their families in their journey.

Testimonials

Kind Words from parents

“I was so excited when I heard there was finally a DMI practitioner in Vancouver, and working with Chelsea has far exceeded my expectations! My daughter sees her weekly and we’ve also done an intensive with her. Chelsea is incredibly skilled and knowledgeable, striking the perfect balance between encouragement and challenge to help my daughter progress. Beyond her expertise, she understands my daughter’s unique struggles and tailors each session to her needs. She has also built such a sweet relationship with my daughter, even singing her favourite songs to keep her motivated and comfortable. It is clear in every interaction with Chelsea that she is deeply passionate about DMI and dedicated to making it more accessible for families. I’m so grateful for her care and expertise and could not recommend her enough!”

“I didn’t truly believe in physical therapy until we started working with Chelsea. We had tried several practitioners in the past, but none of them were able to deliver the results that she has. She has an exceptional understanding of the DMI approach (Dynamic Movement Intervention), and it has been a game changer. In less than six months, my daughter went from taking a single independent step to taking over 40 steps. The progress we’ve witnessed has been nothing short of remarkable, and I’m incredibly grateful for Chelsea and her expertise. She has made a profound, lasting impact on my daughter’s life.”

“We feel so fortunate to have been working with Chelsea over the last four months. Our 1.5 year old son Aaron was diagnosed with CP and has delayed motor functions in his legs. Chelsea has done an amazing job to help Aaron to build his core strength and neuroplasticity through a series of repetitive and complex DMI exercises. Not only is she a skilled specialist with DMI but she is also so friendly and great with our son, who loves to see her every session!”
